I am definitely not a fan of the GPL. I think that software developers, musical artists, authors, painters, and other creators of intellectual property should have the right to control what is done with their works, and that puts me in direct opposition to the GPL.

Sometime in the next couple months, I want to try to better explain why I believe in copyright, patents, and the idea of intellectual property. And perhaps, question some of the things I see your website. :) Thanks for your comment!

A tip-o-the-hat to intellectual honesty, Darren, wherever it is found. It sounds like you're not much of a GPL fan yourself, and that you disagree with the radical copyright reform proposals that some GPL fans (including myself) advocate, but that nevertheless you have really digested and understood what the GPL is all about.

I saw a quote on a t-shirt recently, attributed to Plato: “It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.” Amen to that.
